Description

A silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inch (3.18cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per bend Sanguine and Argent, a cross couped Argent (Silver); on top of the shield, from a wreath Argent and Sanguine, a demi fleur-de-lis Or. Attached to sides of the shield, a maroon scroll inscribed VANGUARD SAUVEUR in Silver.



Symbolism

The fleur-de-lis is a symbol of Louisiana and denotes the location of the hospital. The colors white and maroon are associated with the Army Medical Corps. The cross is indicative of medical aid. The motto VANGUARD SAUVER translates to Group of people leading the way and People saving lives.
